Peter Drucker on the Harm of Overestimating Our Expertise

This little nugget from the classic Managing Oneself epitomizes the need for self-awareness to grow professionally:

“…discover where your intellectual arrogance is causing disabling ignorance and overcome it.”Peter Drucker

Basically, there comes a point where you, me and everyone else has to answer the question: “Do I really know what I’m talking about?” Then, its up to us to fill the gap by improving our knowledge, delegating to others or simply walking away.
